Ancient World

Mysteries of the Ancient World are perhaps some of the most intriguing. We know that the Egyptians built The Pyramids and erected massive obelisks, but how did they undertake such a massive feat of engineering over three thousand years ago? Transporting that amount of stone, and constructing such massive monuments is even a challenge today with our modern heavy machinery!

Why did ancient Britons construct Stonehenge? What is its purpose and how did they place the capstones on the top?

Its not just places and monuments that are mysterious, the Ancients were forever creating artefacts that are still puzzling today. In Costa Rica there are hundreds of stone spheres between 2cm and 2 metres. They are all perfect spheres carved from granodiorite, a very hard rock, and the larger spheres weigh up to 16 tonnes. How? Why?

What about shrunken heads, crystal skulls, the Antikythera device, Shroud of Turin... The list goes on!
