Outer Space

Imagine a sandy beach, pick up one grain of sand. That grain represents our sun. Now pickup a handful of sand. This represents all the stars visible from our little planet. How many stars do you think are represented by the whole beach? Ten galaxies? The universe? Wrong, its just our galaxy, The Milky Way. There are not enough grains of sand on the planet Earth to represent all the stars in the universe.

Now that you can visualise the number of stars in the universe, how many of those stars have planets capable of supporting life? Surely it can’t just be our single grain of sand?
